The CamoAg iOS app is built for working from the truck: a full-screen map, your saved contacts, farms and notes one tap away, and turn-by-turn directions to anything you can find. This page covers installing the app and the handful of settings worth getting right before your first drive.
Not every feature of the CamoAg platform is available in the app. See CamoAg iOS App for Apple for the full desktop-versus-app comparison and the download links.

Install and sign in

1

Download the app

Install CamoAg from the App Store, or search the App Store for “camo ag.”If you previously added the CamoAg web platform to your home screen, delete that shortcut first.
2

Sign in with your CamoAg email and password, Google, Apple, or through your organization’s single sign-on if your company uses it.
3

Turn on Face ID or Touch ID (optional)

Under Settings, enable Use Face ID to Unlock so you don’t have to retype your password each time. This option doesn’t appear for single sign-on accounts.

Allow location sharing

The map centers on you, the Nearby lists measure distance from you, and turn-by-turn navigation routes from you — all of which need location access. The first time you open the map, iOS asks for permission and shows CamoAg’s reason: “We need your location to show your position on the map and track your movement.”

While Using the App

The minimum for the map, Nearby lists, and navigation while the app is open on screen.

Always

Keeps your position updating when the app is in the background — which is what keeps navigation and CarPlay accurate when you switch away to take a call.
If you tapped “Don’t Allow” and the map won’t follow you, re-enable it in the iOS Settings app under CamoAg → Location. On the map, the GPS button in the upper-right column re-centers the map on your location and resumes following you after you’ve panned away.

Face my direction vs. Face north

Default Compass Behavior controls which way the map points: Set the default under Settings → Default Compass Behavior. You can flip between the two at any time by tapping the compass icon on the map — the setting only decides where you start.
The same preference drives CarPlay. Toggling North Always Up from the CarPlay Settings screen changes the orientation on your phone too, and vice versa.

Set your default locations

Default locations are counties. They tell CamoAg where you work, which determines the farms and data surfaced to you first and where the map opens when your location isn’t available.
1

Open Settings

Scroll to Default Locations at the top of the settings screen.
2

Tap Add Location

Search for a county by name and select it.
3

Add as many as you cover

Locations are listed in order as Location 1, Location 2, and so on. Tap the remove button next to any location to delete it.
Default locations are stored on your CamoAg account, so they follow you between the app and the web platform.

Default Directions App

Default Directions App decides what opens when you tap Directions on a contact, farm, parcel, or operation:
  • Ask each time — CamoAg prompts you to choose at the moment you tap.
  • CamoAg — routes inside the app, with turn-by-turn guidance that carries over to CarPlay.
  • Apple Maps
  • Google Maps
Tapping Directions on a detail card in CarPlay always uses CamoAg’s in-app navigation, regardless of this setting — handing the route off to another app mid-drive isn’t safe on the car screen.

Getting around the map

Layers

The stacked-squares button in the upper right opens map filters — which data layers are drawn and which base map you’re on.

GPS

Re-centers on your location and resumes following.

Compass

Toggles between Face North and Face my direction.
The sheet at the bottom of the map is the main control panel. Drag it up for search and your full lists; the three buttons across it open Contacts, Farms, and Notes. The notes button floating above the sheet starts a new note from wherever you are.

Keep going

CarPlay

Run CamoAg on the car screen — Explore, Nearby lists, voice search, and turn-by-turn.

Notes

Record a visit by voice and let CamoAg write the summary.
