Parcels

Read a parcel’s ownership, acreage, valuation, and land-use detail from the parcel panel.

Selecting a parcel opens the parcel panel beside the map. It pulls together everything CamoAg knows about that property — ownership, acreage, assessor records, crop history, valuation, and flood data — and is the jumping-off point for building a farm from that boundary.

Opening a parcel

1. From the map

   Turn on the Parcels layer and select a boundary. The selected parcel is outlined and its panel opens.
2. From search

   Search a parcel ID or an owner name, then select a result under Parcels. See Search.
3. From a link

   Parcel panels have their own URL, so you can bookmark one or paste it to a teammate — for example /map/parcel/us/il/kane/0704300005 (country, state, county, parcel ID).

Use Center map in the panel header to bring the parcel back into view after you’ve panned away.

Parcel summary

The top of the panel identifies the parcel:

Field	What it means
Parcel ID	The county’s identifier for the parcel. Select it to copy it.
County, State	Where the parcel sits.
Coordinates	Latitude and longitude of the parcel centroid.
County acres	Deeded acres according to county tax data.
Calculated acres	Estimated acreage measured from county GIS boundaries.
County assessor	A link out to the county’s own record for this parcel, where the county publishes one.

County acres and calculated acres often disagree. CamoAg shows both so you can see the discrepancy rather than having it silently resolved — see How to Save Parcels for how the two are reconciled when you build a farm.

Assessor Links

CamoAg makes best effort to keep county assessor links up to date, but we’re a small team and rely on community feedback to catch any broken links. Use the Report an issue on the parcel pane to report any issues and help us keep the links accurate.

Start a farm from the parcel

Below the summary, Start Farm from Parcel adds the boundary to the farm builder cart and opens it. If you already have parcels staged, the button reads Add Parcel to Farm; once this parcel is in the cart it reads Parcel Added.

This button appears only if your user has permission to create farms.

Owner details

Owner Details shows the owner of record and their mailing address, with options to copy the address or open directions.

Contacts and operations

When the parcel owner’s address matches an address in your saved operations & contacts, a Contacts section lists the linked contacts and the operation they belong to, so you can go from a boundary on the map to the people behind it. If no contact exists yet, you can create one pre-filled with the owner name and mailing address.

Valuation

Two valuation sections can appear, each showing a Per Acre and Total Value figure, with Show sales comps revealing the comparable sales behind the number:

• CamoAg Estimate — CamoAg’s automated valuation, built from market sales data.
• Private Estimate — the same calculation run against your own organization’s private sales comps.

You can rate an individual comp to tell CamoAg whether it was a good match.

More details

The lower half of the panel is a stack of collapsible sections. Sections with no data for the parcel are hidden.

Property Information

Property address, alternate parcel IDs, county and county subdivision, PLSS township/section/range, county and calculated acres, calculated square footage, the date the record was last refreshed, and a link to the source record.

Cropland Data Layer Information

Crop history for the last five years, charted by year from USDA Cropland Data Layer.

Zoning & Land Use

Land use, zoning, function, and structure descriptions.

Property Sales & Value

Last sale date, total parcel value, improvement value, and land value — as reported by the county assessor.

FEMA Flood Data

Flood zone, flood zone subtype, and the date of the flood zone data.

Highlight on the map — Buildings

Toggles a layer that numbers each building footprint on the parcel and lists its square footage and acreage. Requires a CamoAg Enterprise subscription.
